Command your ship and crew as a space pirate, merchant, bounty hunter, and more
You are the captain of a starship, free to venture anywhere in the universe. The ship and crew are yours to command, upgrade, and customize. Stay loyal to your starting faction, abandon them for others, or play all sides to your own ends. Galactic events & faction quests across eight different eras await your discovery, but every playthrough is first and foremost your story. What kind of captain will you be? You’ll find a wealth of options in this epic, in-depth space RPG from Trese Brothers Games… • Play as any kind of captain: Spy, smuggler, explorer, pirate, merchant, bounty hunter… more than 20 jobs with their own bonuses & roleplaying possibilities! • Customize your own spaceship: Choose from 350+ upgrades and 45 ship hulls to build a vessel perfectly suited to your adventures across the vast reaches of space. • Recruit and tailor a loyal crew: Assign talents and equip specialized gear for every spaceship crew member. • Weave a new narrative on every playthrough: Decide to make friends or foes with other factions and influence political, economic, and personal vendettas. • Your choices change your crew: As you make decisions and set the tone for your ship, your crew will grow and change to match. Destroy enemy ships with all hands on deck and your crew will become more bloodthirsty and savage. Explore distant worlds and loot dangerous wastelands and your crew will become intrepid and clever… or scarred and half-mad. • Explore a rich, open universe: procedurally-generated characters and even galaxies allow for endless possibilities. Change map options to create a universe gigantic or small as fits your playstyle. • Choose your own difficulty: From Basic to Brutal, or fully customizable individual options. Play with save slots to try out different builds or storylines or turn on character permadeath and enjoy a classic roguelike experience. • Achievement unlocks: accomplish story and challenge goals to unlock additional optional (not better) content like new starting ships and new starting contacts. If you’re a sci-fi fan, you’ll recognize many of our influences, but the lore of Star Traders is a universe of its own… First there was the Exodus – when survivors of a great war left the ruins of the Galactic Core behind in search of a new home in the stars. Scattered worlds were claimed on the fringe of the galaxy. Each pocket of survivors held on to an isolated set of worlds while trying to rebuild under the great law of Shalun. Three centuries later, technology has brought them back together again. Discovery of the hyperwarp has bridged what was once an unimaginable distance between far-flung colonies, long-lost families, and political factions. With that reunification has come great economic prosperity. The hyperwarp reestablished the transportation of cargo, goods, and technologies between the quadrants – but it has also brought great strife. Political rivalries have been rekindled, blood has been shed in age-old feuds, and the fires of war have been stoked. Amidst the political infighting, a ruthless revolution is rising – and the fervent explorers of the hyperwarp have awoken something that was better left asleep. -- Star Traders: Frontiers is the latest and most expansive Star Traders game to date. Our very first game, “Star Traders RPG”, took hundreds of thousands of gamers on an interstellar adventure. Its success and overwhelmingly-positive reception helped to launch Trese Brothers Games. It was the adventures of our community’s star-crossed captains that put us on a trajectory to share more of our worlds, ideas, and dreams. We set out to capture the loneliness, bravery, and camaraderie of people living together in a spaceship sailing across the stars. It is with great pride that after releasing four other games in the Star Traders universe, we’ve created a sequel to the original Star Traders RPG. Step onto the bridge of your starship, take to the stars, and create your own story in Star Traders: Frontiers.

I bought it a week ago and have played it for 22 hours so far. Keep in mind that i have 2, full time jobs, so that tells you how addictive this is. There is so much to do and so many play stes to pic from. I was intimidated at first be how much info there is too keep track of, but it is all very intuitive once you just start poking around. There IS a great story, but if you ignore it it just keeps happening around you and the whole galaxy feels alive and dynamic. it is a ton of fun
- Aaron Edgell · v3.4.59
Economies dont make sense, accepting missions takes too many confirmations, crew management is a chore. Ships dont have minimum crew requirements, you start with more crew members than you need to do the basic mission types available. the game makes everything expensive and difficult for no reason. cant beleive I paid $6.99 for this.

I said what I said.
- Nicks Digger · v3.4.59
If you appreciate deep mechanics and a sandbox experience, this is by far the best game I've played from the app store.
- Chris Ags · v3.4.39
Amazing game that has been getting regular updates for years! My favorite RPG on Android
- Randy Hayes · v3.4.59
EDIT: The DEVS tweeking has made it too gimicky now and it is a slog to get going. It's going to frustrate most people. I enjoyed it before, no additional in game payment required. A intresting ship building mechanism, crew building game, there are not too many similar games. That said most games want you to succeed for a little, not this game. Be warned.
- Michael Piet · v3.4.59
Genuinely the best game on the app store hands down. I downloaded this game a while back and it’s been a recurring download each time I get a new phone. Endless captains and a super engaging game loop this game fulfills every space captains itch. TRESE BROTHERS PLEASE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THIS GAME. Also one request is to add more cosmetics whether it be outfits or making more face options as I keep having to reuse the same face models on multiple play throughs. Also cyber knights is a goated game
- buzzerd305 · v3.4.59
I initially reviewed this game in 2021, having owned it for my iPad and my previous phone. now, it's 2026. This game has so much content it kept me distracted and obsessed, and even helped me through my divorce. this is my go to comfort game after so many years, and the fact there's still updates for it shows how much the Devs still care for it. it's not just a game, so much as a total work of art 👍
- scott white · v3.2.13
i like the updated gameplay but the added group fighting makes me feel like the game went in a directon i dont like to go the original game will forever be one of my favorites and this one can be fun for others it just isnt for me

this is absolutely amazing it's so much fun blowing up other ships and looting them and earning a butt load of money. I like to do the missions this game is just phenomenal

- Idenity Infinity · v3.4.57
Really fun space RPG that has a lot going for it if you're a fan of dune or just space opera in general. fun to play on hard where you have one life, which sounds unforgiving (it can be) but is such an authentic space captain experience complete with memorable moments that only scarcity and the threat of imminent demise can bring. also has a surprising amount of lore and universe building. was pleasantly surprised it's not just a sandbox ship captain game but a genuine world in its own right.
- Jeremy Gillan · v3.4.57
I'd say it's a good game, but the game balance is shot. The mini games that command your attention don't provide the same benefits in a mission as outside of one- spying for example doesn't provide access to new contacts unless its in mission. The game has game ending fights in random encounters, and you may not attempt to run. The difficulty in the tutorial mission ramps up past the starting ships capabilities. I wish I liked this more.
- Akira'Oni'The Job-Title
I love deep RPGs and this is one of them. However I’m not big on all the complex parts of this game. I always end up getting a certain way into the game and then encountering enemies I can’t beat. I lose a few battles and fail quests and then run out of money. I’d love it if you added a story level of difficulty where the battles are a little hard but you never lose even when outmatched. I’d pay extra if you added that or add a way for me to pay $4.99 and get 5 million credits or something. Thank you.
- AndyG13lovemykids · v3.4.57
Great game, still getting new updates. I come back to it after a year or so. Highly recommend. But seems like it doesn't go full screen anymore? It has black bars on the left and right edges of the screen, and some UI elements like text and buttons kind of overlap a bit.
- apple avocado · v3.4.57
A bit of a mix between freelancer and FTL. Choose what you want to do and which factions you want to support across the universe.
- Dixie1337 · v3.4.57
I installed the game on my Chromebook but it will not load...the other games by you guys loaded fine but not this one
- Prince Emmanuel · v3.4.57
Actual dogcrap. Awful combat, painful UI that makes finding good trades far too lengthy, constant “oOo, SpAcE dAmAgE” godawful nonsense occurring every few seconds that wipe out any mediocre trade profits. There are a lot better trading games out here. Avoid this one.
- Hippo411 · v3.4.57
intergalactic rpg that utilizes broad stroke character creation. makes for a convoluted & illegible time with little to no guidance. the help panel helps. you're better off running or avoiding confrontation to start. you will lose.
- sPiRaL aRchiTeCt
Star traders is so much fun, you can really get lost in the world and unless you’re killed, you just keep going, getting stronger, growing your own operation whether that’s being the strongest military ship in your faction or going around spying on everyone for who you decide deserves it. Awesome game, never seen this formula on iOS.
- Goldollaz · v3.4.57
It’s crazy how RNG this game is, so it makes early game gameplay a slug and coin flip. Then when you try to really invest in something, the game locks you out of the main story because you spent three months stuck in hyper warp. Wasting the whole hellish run. I hate this game for the time it’s wasted. It’s got way too much in it to be so finicky, the UI cramped, easy to misclick, save scumming basically needed. No way to make a good crew not completely out of dog water. I understand the guys have updated it for years, but it’s just to frustrating and iffy of a game to say it’s okay to INVEST time into. ABSOLUTELY NOT. It will screw too over each time on RNG, horrid UI, and extremely time limited story missions.
- Dr.Mono69 · v3.4.47
This is one of the best games I've played on Android (and PC)! It scratches so many itches. Space ship customization and management. Crew management. Trading. Space combat. Crew combat. Some great stories and missions. Lots of different play styles possible. Pleasing visuals. Intuitive and polished interfaces. Updates and support. Passionate and dedicated developers. I could go on and on. A true gem in an ocean of slop that is mobile gaming these days. Thoroughly recommended!!!
- Wojciech Dudek · v3.4.55
I’m enjoying this game more than any space RPG that I’ve played in over a decade.
- cpurdy111 · v3.4.47
downright fantastic controls. its got great story. i love the trade , piracy , blockade ,spy, patrol , pacing , grind, theres aliens and rebels and great houses and syndicates with ships special to each faction and multiple ways to play and sandbox with options of railroads that unlock other options man ive put some time in this game and i still go ba c k it really scratches the itch for sure what a masterpiece im happy these guys made this game
- Ivan Shubin · v3.4.47
wasn't my cup of tea, but they refuse refunds.
- Encrtia Santa · v3.4.47
Well worth the price. The developers are still updating and maintaining the game. This has been a solid favourite for 2+ years now, I have yet to get tired of replaying. The game has proper depth and character, avoiding many of the pitfalls of other mobile games which bottom out after 1 or 2 playthroughs. My only niggles are: UI is still a bit janky, definitely optimised for PC rather than mobile but still works, and also savegame transfer across devices still doesnt work. New phone = new game
- James Wilbur · v3.4.47
I bought this game and set it aside for some time, clumsily wandered outside my first settlement for a couple of seconds and ran into a pirate ship. They had slightly stronger shields and armor so I closed in and boarded. My melee character got wounded pretty badly and morale went down the toilet for her, but we trashed the officers’ cabin, panicked the crew, then went back outside and riddled the ship with more fire. Finally the hull ruptured and my melee character got promoted to combat medic. This is old school gaming with a huge injection of modern depth. Love it.
- lostproductivity · v3.4.47

- Ryan Salts · v3.4.47
This game is absolutely amazing. I've been playing it for nearly a year and would absolutely play it more if some fresh content were added. The secret to enjoying this game is to do hard mode and try and get all the achievements. Each achievement requires a very different build that forces you to learn the deeper mechanics of the game. There is very little handholding in the game, so expect to be regularly trawling the wiki but this means that the success you find is entirely yours. Brilliant!
- Adrian Kersaitis · v3.4.47
I've had this game for years I generally play Explorer build so I ignore the main quest lines. I finally started attempting to do them.. the story behind this game is deep! the devs are really good world builders. it's obvious there dune fans but they have created a very unique universe. personally I think it's more interesting then 40k. it's a shame never created more games. I guess they got rich from this and decided not to make more 😊
- Nooms · v3.4.47
You did not even put a tutorial in. Why? I am a nerd, but this game requires you to figure out how to play from youtube or the like? Rediculous. Why make it a job to be able to understand? Already have a job, get a clue.
- Justin Tyme · v3.4.47
Following all these glowing reviews, I was eager to dive into a rich, immersive gameplay experience. While there's plenty of layered elements to micromanage... I'm surprised by how repetitive and tedious the core mechanics feel so far. Likewise, I'm struggling to remain invested in the storylines, characters, and factions. I'll try a couple more runs for having paid. It's worth supporting, devs have obviously poured a lot of dedicated efforts into this game. It's just not for me, unfortunately.
- Christopher Harsch
So uh… not to be a wet towel or anything ?but uh , we need ships . Like bigger ones to spend our long term millions on.
- Kewlez · v3.4.47
A very fun spaceship captain experience! A lot of story lines, event, and different outcome leading to an always unique route and game plan, so the replayability is high and rewarding, especially the customisation. It's also has a lot thinking and planning, so you have to make your own strategy and planning. Love it, though I would love it more if it could sync between different platform (like cloud saving or some kind), so I could play on my phone and pc using the same save file.
- Ghiza Jibran Satria Syahrial · v3.4.47

- Nils Wanke · v3.4.47
Very good game. Slight issue with the UI size being incorrect for my phone and causing some elements to clip into each other.
- RanakastraszPlusPlus · v3.4.47
PC or Mobile, as a strategy fan for over 30 years, this remains one of my favourites. what it lacks in flashy AAA graphics it makes up for with one of the most delightful sandboxes you'll ever try.
- Old Man Mordaith (Joshua) · v3.4.47
Top ten in android games easily, would maybe include it on my top 50 on PC or console. If you like the premise you owe it to yourself to check it out. My only caveat is that it's pretty systems heavy, if you're looking for a cozy game this is not it. But if you want a thinker's game on your phone you will have to try hard to find a better game.
- James Duthie · v3.4.47
the best turn based galactic game ever made and of course it was done cheap n mostly finance by the fans, corporations wouldn't even come close . also I read some reviews, keep in mind this game can be played on the cheapest phone it's for the people. keep that in mind when you review
- jody McCoy
Way too much fun. This is easily entertainment for many many flights
- Moo Cow · v3.4.43
great game. more pros then cons.. fun. but kind of boring after a while. wish there was more to do after certain points. sometimes it's confusing you can acknowledge but run into same guy in the next sector and it's bribe or retreat. still. these guys make good games, and refund if you don't like it. can't say that about many devs
- Chuck · v3.4.43
Long time/sporadic enjoyer of ST: Frontiers. This is a great succession to the original, with far more depth and new mechanics to keep players busy. It takes a while to get a grasp on everything, but very rewarding when you get into it. My play style is more relaxed, easier difficulties. Merchant, smuggler, or explorer mostly. My only gripe is the text can be difficult to read. Small size and a custom font, but I manage okay on my phone. Desktop version is fantastic, but my computer no work lol.
- Cassie · v3.4.43
Deep turn-based space rpg for phone. No bs micro transactions or monetization. Warning: you will need to read the wiki instructions carefully to get very far, this isn't a trival play. Only downside is it gets a bit repetitive after a few hours, but that's a genre issue more than this title. Well worth the money in gameplay hours.
- john Withers · v3.4.43
I love this game, it's truly a gem but my game starting crashing. I can't play it anymore I was doing a mission and my game crashed. Every time i log in to my save it crashes and closes. I'm only lowering the rate to call your attention hahaha for i think the game is amazing. I tried to clear the cache but it didn't work so it's either get the bug patched or start a new game, lose all my progress and pray it doesn't happen again 😭
- Santiago Andres · v3.4.43
Rotating circles on everything, which obscures planets. The UI is cluttered. No sense of scale. Combat is tedious. No sense of scale here, either. Ships are a set distance apart, closing in or backing off doesn't change anything visually. An arrow appears, pointed in the direction you're going. A lot of things locked behind punishing achievements. If you dislike tedium so play on Easy, then you can't unlock anything. The font is so tiny half the text is unreadable. Good idea, bad implementation.

This game has knocked my socks off. The quality is excellent. I like the narrative/free-roam balance. Interesting lore and characters. No ads, just straightforward one-time purchase of the game and you’re golden. I’ve sank maybe a little over 30 hours into it and I’ve barely brushed the surface. It feels robust, and that’s something I don’t normally experience with mobile games. This game set out with a goal and absolutely crushed it! If you enjoy RPGs, this game is worth a play.
- TrevorLusca · v3.4.39
Played this game from 2021 till now. There are thousands of variations, combos, and lineups that you could try.
- Furio Madhive (Furio) · v3.4.39
The command, crew, and ship are yours to customize as long as you minmax everything, read a primer that's dozens of pages long, and consult countless guides. The devs state the design is meant to be crippling (see Steam posts they made). Everything centers around minmaxing and savescumming; not about actually playing. Your entire time will be spent studying tables to ensure you don't tank your rep or game. They laud that the early level 5 Xeno just outright kill you and end your game.
- C Stewart
Another awesome game by the Trese Brothers. Get lost for hours on end in the Star Traders universe. It has a lot of replay value since there is many different directions you can go in & play as. Download this one for hours of RPG fun across the galaxy, you won't be disappointed.
- W Sharpnack · v3.4.39
the greatest game on phone has been great for years the one gripe I have is the story. give us something new maybe another story.
- Nathan Scott
A rare miss by the brothers. Not having an option to surrender during naval combat is kind of ridiculous. You just fail to retreat over and over as your ship is destroyed, praying that they take out your engines so combat ends before your ship is destroyed. Oh and like 1/3 of your crew will abandon you because of all the damage you took.

Don’t be deceived by the high aggregated score. This company either pays for reviews or has a core “early-access” crowd boosting the score. With no tutorial and dense mechanics, this game is almost unplayable without consulting a wiki. This is apparent from character creation onward, followed by a few comically unexplained prompts leading to the main quest. In addition, many UI elements are tiny and unexplained. If you enjoy mystery novels, perhaps you will find delight in the pain.
- College Corey · v3.4.37
This is a seemingly intentionally unenjoyable RNG-PG combining all of the worst aspects of 2D, turn based team fighting RPGs and overly verbose sci-fi roguelikes. The only enjoyment you can really extract, once you've spent the necessary hours making sense of this mess of a game, is from high difficulty runs where your goal is to get terrible RNG (doesn't take long in this game). I'd rate this vaporware zero stars if I could.

June 26th 2025 (Update Review) They just dropped another update 3 months ago. Look at the update list. Tap on updates… look at *everything they’ve added” mind you for free. Which I would had paid, this is a two man studio. Support these men. If you haven’t played this game… check it out YouTube. Look at the reviews, it deserves more. Also, this is a game you can play for hours on end or even in bite size runs. Deep story Amazing role playing capabilities - you create any tv show, movie, book or game that you play whether Sci-Fi, Fantasy or Non Fiction. The replay value is bonkers.. —————————————- Trese bros is insane! Still updating this masterpiece even while working on their new title Cyber Knights, which is currently in early access on Steam. (I’m buying that too for iOS) Trese bros, you guys are amazing! I had a review on here from 3 years ago, where pretty much called it Skyrim in space, I came here to update it, but somehow it’s gone. is Apple removing older reviews? Anyways, If you’re a gamer and you’re reading this… BUY THIS game, it’s pretty much Skyrim in Space but from a darkest dungeon 2D battle perspective. A very deep, elegant and sophisticated story. If you love to role play like them pc stellaris players… then this will be your addiction. This game, because of it’s open world web filled with politics, agendas, factions, trading, smuggling, bounty hunting, spying, xeno alien hunting… and so much more, trese bros, perfectly designed all these elaborate interplay of game systems that work silently in the background, which is part of the magic that immerses you into this organic, lived in universe.. It will have you naming your crew from characters of whatever shows, movies, books, comics that you are a fan of: Star Wars, Star Trek, Dune, Foundation, Justice League, X-men, Avengers, Ripley and her crew from Alien, your favorite sports team, your favorite manga or anime (infinite playground for your imagination here) Buy this game, you will not be disappointed. Also plenty of youtube guides are available.

It’s pretty addicting when you really get into it the only thing I wish they had were missions that delve into cosmic horror or even space zombies and I wish I could customize ship colors/looks
- seemddope · v3.4.29
The best mobile game I’ve played. I purchased this years ago for cheap and it’s still fun. There have been hundreds of free updates that continue to add to the game. There’s an old school brutality in losing crew members, which reminds me of the original X-Com. With so many professions to choose from, you can play a different style every game. My praise to the developers and their devotion to this game.
- Notyerbizness · v3.4.29
I am down with text based RPGs, but this was sold to me as a strategy rpg. When you get past the overly long conversations, you have a lacking travel system, and a terrible ui. Trying to plan a jumps for more than one mission is clunky back and forth. When you do get to combat, ship combat is fine, but in no way good, but crew combat is absolutely trash. I either dominate the other team, or you get wrecked. I had a combat that one crew member got one turn, and then couldn’t act for the next four turns while they were murdered. In that same combat, I had the ship doctor, but they couldn’t do anything to heal. What is the point of a doctor that can’t do their only job?

Long time fan, thank you so much for this amazing game. Battleforce is way better than anything GW has put out for mobile right now.
- JimDouglas1967 · v3.4.29
This game is amazing, addicting, and truly one of a kind. It has the feel of an old school RPG where the graphics are immaterial and 2nd to the gameplay and storyline. I love the endless varieties of gameplay, stories, and paths you can take. Highly recommended, and the best part is you don’t need a network to play! Completely self-sufficient and no intrusive ads or shameless plugs. Thank you Trese Brothers ❤️
- Poiethis · v3.4.21
I like this kinda game. It reminds me of many of the kinds of games I played way back when. There is lots of customization and play but the worst part of this game is all of the random ship encounters. You want to do the missions but trying to get anywhere on the map and you get random ship encounters. Combat is fine but it gets old when it leads to nothing.

I found this game to be redundant, tedious, and boring. I lost interest quickly. Also the illustrations look pretty bad.
- mmmmccc1 · v3.3.69
I’ve put more hours into this than any other non-mindless game on my phone.
- h6834 · v3.3.69
I’ve bought this game here and on PC and I love it on both. Highly recommend!
- Shulitze · v3.3.67
I fought my first battle and in the after action report would bet let me advance to the next screen. Unfortunate bug that you wouldn’t expect in the first 10 minutes of gameplay making the game unplayable.
- Ryan648292549 · v3.3.55
So before the recent update the game was running perfectly. However the recent update have made the UI Scaling a bit smaller and cropped out. There is not UI Settings so I cannot adjust that. The game play and story is fantastic.
- ArmoredTalon · v3.3.31
The dynamic island on new iPhones interfere with the main in-game menu. It’s frustrating. Great game though. :-)

Really fun game, lots of complexity, challenge, and replay-ability. My main gripe with these kinds of games is that to play optimally, it requires some very tedious save/reloading to roll good crew, missions, etc. I’d give this a 4, maybe 5 star review if it weren’t for the User Interface (UI), which was clearly made for a PC with a keyboard+mouse and a large screen. Many buttons are super small and hard to click on, font sizes are super small, and accidentally selecting the wrong item due to an errant finger swipe, getting a phone call, etc. is a very real possibility. This last point can be especially brutal considering the permanent and brutal consequences of single actions in-game. Would have been nice if the developers had made more optimizations for the mobile app UI when they ported this over, but I get it, time is money and this a way for them to make some bonus cash from a game they already developed…I just wish it didn’t few that way.

Have you ever played an in the game and thought to yourself “wow, that was a horrible design choice that you’d never see in a AAA game”? Well, this is the kind of game that features a myriad of those. They’re not the kind of mistakes that are borne of creativity, but instead the kind that a seasoned game dev team lead would say “actually, that would prevent X type of player from doing X type of thing the way they want. We’ve found that’s it’s better to do Y” literally basic, first year game design school stuff. For example: I have always been someone who plays games and the hardest difficulty, so this complaint is not necessarily about my experience, but it could affect yours. About 2/3 of all ships in the game, as well as half of the starting classes are locked behind achievements that you must play the game on progressively herder difficulties to unlock. not only that, but often times the requirements for the achievement require you to build your captain and crew in such a way that you will not even be able to use the thing you unlocked in that play through, requiring you to do a full restart solely to use the thing that you spent all that time getting. Most of the ships and classes are unlocked in this bafflingly tedious manner. This is not much more than an annoyance for me, but a system that locks half its content behind stuff that not every player will be able to achieve is bad game design. Save your money.

I have this game on PC. Such a wonderful game and wanted a way to play it mobile. Well, this is the app! It’s awesome and you don’t lose any features. Gameplay is flawless and I forget I’m even playing on iPad lol. Devs are very involved and care a lot about their product. Do yourself a favor and get this game, NOW!
- Rouge-D · v3.2.49
This was the very first KS project of the Trese Brothers that I ever backed, and hundreds of updates later it has grown by many leaps and bounds into a near perfect strategy and trade game. On the PC they have added mod support, while everything else has feature parity between PC, Android, and iOS. Captain a ship across the known colonized stars and play however you desire. Want a simple trade game to master economics? You may! Want to be a bounty hunter, smuggler, or even a pirate? Have fun! Want to hunt vile Xenos and ensure their threat to humanity is blunted? Please do so! If you want to dabble with politics to unlock contacts and more sensitive missions, the game will allow you to do so. All the while time moves forward and events unfold across the game. Choose to participate to influence or take advantage of the game's current events, or feel free to avoid and ignore them. Your the Captain, and your crew is here to support you. You may fly large or small ships, utilize small craft as a carrier or expand cargo, bristle with guns and launchers or gear for stealth, or however you desire to play. This is a game that just wants you to have a good time and enjoy it. Consider playing to unlock ships, contacts, and starting careers. If delving in criminal matters excites you, you may. This is a game that respects your time and is hard to master. I love it!
- SvZurich · v3.2.49
This is an amazing game that I play on here and Steam. Do yourself a favor and pick up Star Traders and immerse yourself. I hope the team never stops adding to and updating this gem.
- SnappyFerguson · v3.2.47
When you get to mid game there is no mechanism for purchasing bombers or interdictors on the mobile platform. Guides are all for pc platform. Please fix.
- I3adone · v3.2.45
This is one of those games that you have to slowly settle into and take your time learning. I don’t know how many captains I’ve been through. I don’t know how many character templates I’ve tried and discarded. There are a huge number of options, and not a lot of help. I don’t have a lot of time to be researching game mechanics, so over the last two months I finally found a website that taught me how to get a playable character started. I gave this five stars because once you get your head around it, it is really fun. There are so many nuances that starting over is fun. But if you don’t have the patience to dig deep into a game like this, it may not be for you. Also, the story doesn’t seem, to me, to be highly replayable. Maybe I could pick different options on my playthroughs, but the other options mostly seem repugnant. For this particular new captain, I am going to try ignoring the main quest, at least until I can’t ignore it anymore. All I really want to do is the trading and random missions. There are so many ship options that it is bewildering. Concepts aren’t at all clear, like the difference between ship armor and ship shields. There’s also a slew of unlocks, but many of them only affect new games, when what you really want is to unlock something in your current game. But take your time, nurture your crew, pick a strategy for your ship and outfitted accordingly, and do web searches for the helpful wikis and reviews that are out there. And you will have a blast.
- Tiann66 · v3.2.33
This game is truly a piece of art. I have yet, in all of my years of gaming (PC, Console, Mobile) to find a mobile game with as much immersion, depth, and developer passion as this. It is fun, engaging, and challenging. It has more in it that most triple A titles released today. I urge you to look past the price because it is genuinely one of my greatest iPhone game enjoyments to date.
- Pwn144 · v3.2.25
Folks I love the game. Everything about it. Except that there is no cloud save. I’d like to be able to go from iPad to iPhone with my save games and I can’t believe that’s not possible. Everything else is awesome.
- Abukoff · v3.2.13
I learned the game on the easier difficulties, decided to start trying out the harder difficulties so its not as boring and the arbitrary nature of the RNG system ruined it for me. Hyperspace jump nav check fails (causing massive fuel loss), losing in combat (despite being twice the level and outclassing other ship), being given missions I couldn’t complete, being constantly attacked by ships (despite investing in stealth)… the list goes on. I like a challenging game, not being “game overed” repeatedly by things outside of my control. The game is ok otherwise, lots of variety, things to do, customization, and more. Story is flat, art is sub-par.
