I personally enjoy reading the main story and interacting with the characters (there is no much you can do as there is no specific change in the plot according to your choice). my only complain is; please, increase the rate of winning s-chips/coins/upgrade materials, as it already impossible to be an f2p in this game (I can't upgrade my cards properly/can't pull for limited SSR cards as you have to collect 18k s-chips and that's nearly impossible). I can't continue playing like this !

I'd say the game is fantastic, outside of the struggle to be a free to play player. the main story is phenomenal and really has my attention, though the wait can be a little too long. Most of the cards are very well done, my only issue is that some are completely unobtainable because it's through spending money, though that's pretty rare. The large events are definitely a reason to keep coming back, think Blizardous Thread, the recent Magic School themed event etc. Overall highly recommend!

Pretty good, but incredibly expensive

I’ve been playing this game since it was released since 2021. At that time it was far more affordable: the male leads were placed under the same banner, more focus was given to the main story, and the romance was surprisingly liberal. At that time, a lot of otome games, especially phone ones, had male characters who were clearly flirtatious with the main love interest but in a way that could be taken as either romantic or platonic. Tears of Themis makes that incredibly obvious that you’re dating them when you go into their individual routes so the main routes being ambiguous was a good choice! Landmark scenarios from kissing to steamy scenes to marriage were incredibly rare as well on phone otomes back then so being able to explicitly marry them now was such a nice achievement. I’ve been waiting for so long for that and it finally happened after 5 years! That said, Tears of Themis is falling into the trap of gacha games like any other where now the male leads have been split into four separate banners for summoning while also having individual events, which is great when it comes to their landmark experiences but also makes it incredibly hard for both free-to-play AND paying players to afford. One card alone, if you’re hitting pity, takes about 70-80 dollars. The subscription as well doesn’t give you more than 2400 per month, not including the weekly chips you can get which goes up to tops 400-600. If you have an event release, achievement, or new chapter release, you can easily hit up to 500-1k a week but that’s far more uncommon. I just wish the developers could reduce the pricing as well or increase the number of S-chips we’re getting from the temples every week or daily missions. I also hope that they’d be a little more proactive with the main story since we’re clearly lagging behind it at the moment with how often they’re throwing in events. I genuinely forgot at times that we had a main story because half the time it’s just mini stories that are cute moments but not really relevant to what I first joined this game for. Developers, please bring back the same energy you gave in 2021! I was lucky to be in that era because I got so many of their original cards with the simple gameplay that made it so fun to play! Now, the game is swamped with so many mini games that—although fun—might be overwhelming new players. I’ve been there for every gameplay update so it was easier for me to catch up, but I can’t imagine how new players are experiencing it because of how intense the amount of side quests they have to juggle around while figuring out the game. Also, I don’t know how feasible this is but I’d genuinely love it if the boys would be under one banner again. It doesn’t have to happen all the time, but for big moments like marriage or getting together or first dates—I think those warrant a one-banner release!

Interesting main story + romantic routes are pursued separately and can be done simultaneously. It's not very beginner friendly though. Not much benefits, and almost everything requires stamina you just don't have. Most surprisingly there's no option to adjust text speed, and tapping on unvoiced text while on auto skips the line. A nightmare for fast readers.

I LOVE THIS GAME! It's honestly the first otome gacha game I really got addicted to. The story is really good, and the MC and the LIs are very interesting! I'm a light spender, so I can't speak for a F2P, but at least with the monthly card, doing daily tasks and saving up solely for my LI, I can pull pretty often. You definitely have to get used to the game, so I'd advise against pulling too recklessly as a beginner and take a bit of time to learn about skills and attributes to get over debates!

Absolutely ridiculous that there is no report button inside the game. You have to jump through hoops of nonsense questions and slow loading just to realize there’s no way to contact the developers unless through email. Worst part, they never answer emails or take literal years because they don’t care about foreign players. What a joke. FYI, the BGM on the Seeking Heart invitation is NOT WORKING. Fix it!!!

The best long running otome. Tons of content, fun deckbuilder element, and the plot (full of murder mysteries, and other crime drama) is genuinely so good. You can experience every love interest's story since they're parallel to the main plot. Plays well if you don't want to spend money, though you just have to accept it'll take longer to get rarer cards in gacha. (All the content is free though! Including alt universe games that are frankly incredible.) Grateful for this relaxing game!

i returned to this game after a long time and am impressed with how far it has come since its first release. LOVE the user interface of the events, especially “island suspense”. the chat design is like mystic messenger but better, however the texts come a little too fast. i’ll be updating my review as i continue to play the game, but it’s definitely one of the best otome i’ve ever played because it doesn’t feel cheesy or cringe like some others. you can tell that the artists put a lot of time and care into the game. however, this game is definitely Not for kids as it has themes such as drugs/suicide/murder.

Very Poor Programming

Not worth playing in 2026. Ignoring how this game has always had major bugs. From weekly missions end date jumping between Friday or Saturday. When I reported the bug the response was it depended on events. No other games weekly missions changes the day it ends cause what they consider what a week is doesn’t change! Fortunately, after months of the issue, they fixed it. I told them that their health app event was broken. Even sent them a video of the bug and they forward me to suggestions that doesn’t even allow for video. Suggestions proceed to ask me to make a YouTube video in private. They simply ignored fixing it and reused the poorly made event 4 times for each guy. I am so done with this game that can’t be bothered to test if their events even work! They also can’t even make a survey correctly! They make a long surveys but if you stay too long in the survey. It begins to massively lag. I feel so done with this game after I put so much effort providing evidence on the 3rd time that broken event showed up. Only for it to appear again with the same bugs. It is a simple fix but they can’t be bothered to fix their event after months. Just reusing the same broken code over and over again. Absolutely trash programming or ai programming. Don’t waste your time or money on a game like this.

One of the best art for otome games

Art for the cards are great. You get options with the LIs written so differently. Main story and character stories are all consistent and easy to follow — more coherency than LADS. Appreciate the romantic progression with male leads from friends to lovers to engagement to marriage. It’s very organized. Mihoyo has a thoughtful 5-year plan or something with this game, which makes love interactions much better than just random interactions everywhere. Im engaged in the stories even if writing isn’t like amazing. Events are usually fun too. Sometimes a miss but there’s usually something new to look forward to. Only cons: I feel like you reach end of game content after a year or two… I’ve been playing for 4 years I think. Many players leave and return when there’s nothing to do in game, especially when the event isn’t interesting or involving your main LI. And the wish currency, tears, are LIMITED. They’re most stingy I think out of all Hoyo games. The grind is real for F2P to afford gacha cards.

As an otome game, Tears of Themis is one of the best out there. It's a "self-insert" game, but the MC is still shown as a hard-working individual with a personality of her own. You have four love interests to choose from, and all of them have their own unique personalities and quirks. Not to mention, the gameplay is captivating on it's own. The setting of the game is a law firm, with you (the MC) working as a lawyer. The main storyline isn't centered around romance, but rather the numerous criminal-law cases the MC and love interests deal with and the complexities of solving the cases. The storylines for individual guys are instead found in the cards, which are pulled through the game's gacha mechanic (of course it's not a HoYoverse game without a gacha). You can pull for specific Love Interests in the gacha where the romantic interactions between the MC and the love interest are portrayed. You use these cards to battle, where you can earn rewards to upgrade your cards, and wishes to pull more in the gacha. There are micro-transactions available, but the game is still largely playable as F2P. The events are doable without spending money if you play consistency, whereas the spending money would come in if you wanted several copies of a card. Overall, I rate this game 5/5 because it is entertaining and has beautiful art. The community for the game is largely supportive and wholesome, and there is also "irl" merch available of this game which is super super cute ;)♥️

Laggy

Game is very laggy even on the newest phone, even when the phone is restarted, even when low power mode is off, and even when it’s the only app open/in the background. Not sure why the game also takes forever to load upon opening when all of my other games load immediately. Even Love and Deepspace loads faster and never lags and that game is heavy on the resources.

Can’t stand the sexism anymore

This was my first otome game. I’ve watched some anime before and I can overlook some sexist tropes because I know this is fantasy and meant to be romantic but I just can’t stand it anymore. It’s gotten to the point I hate every character except maybe Marius but even he has his cringe moments. I’ve got no one left to root for. But mainly I stopped playing after they lost the Japanese voice overs. I don’t want to just read stuff. It’s not an immersive story without voices.

This game is gorgeous and dense with content. There is so much you can do for free, if you’re disciplined and ok with a lot of disappointment. I tend to hoard resources, so I thought I’d be ok if I was selective. The reason for two stars is that they throw *a ton* of events at you, all rapid-fire, short duration, and overlapping, all with great, shiny combat and cosmetic rewards. Even if you don’t jump at a quarter of them, it’s way too much. I liked this game and respected how much they let us do for free, so I decided to become a paid player. They’d definitely earned my money. So I bought the monthly card and was ready to go all-in on the next event that had something I really wanted. Then I figured out how much I’d have to spend on the single event to get the reward I wanted. I became a payed player… and it still wasn’t enough to get a single reward from a single event. They have everything from .99¢ purchases to a recent event where you had to buy a card outright to get it. For over $60. It’s just way too much. They get you with the gorgeous art and the broad stories and the well-designed side quests and mini-games… then if you want to keep engaging in the world that’s hooked you, it’s $$$$. It’s designed in an unethical way—it crosses a line into unethical. I recommend people find something else to do with their time and not get sucked in.

Amazing game!

I’ve been playing this game for years it’s amazing the only issue I have is it’s laggy and kicks me out at times and the storage needed is outrageous! But still I love this have and recommend playing the cards are beautiful as well the events are fun to

Poor Customer Support

Attempting to email Tears of Themis’ customer service is a bad idea. Your response is likely to be an unprofessional and demeaning copy-paste. HoYoverse, the company who owns Tears of Themis, is currently under fire for their character designs. Their most popular game, Genshin Impact, is based around exploring seven nations, all of which take blatant inspiration from real world countries. The next nation they are adding to the game, Natlan, is inspired by West African and South American countries. Through the music, landscapes, architecture, and character names, it’s clear they’ve done their research. However, the characters, despite being named after deities from these real world countries, are all very pale. This has sparked outrage from a variety of people, including people who find the lack of representation insulting and those who feel the designs are just better with darker skin. This made people look at their other games, and notice the issue is even more prevalent outside of Genshin Impact. I emailed customer support about this after seeing many people do the same. Many people have gotten a copy-pasted,incredibly unprofessional email response. The response I received after a day of waiting was more professional, but still clearly copy-pasted, and also likely false. If you have an issue with the game, you’re probably not going to have the issue resolved. As such, until the dev team shows growth and actually listens to their fans, I cannot recommend this game, or any HoYoverse game (Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, Tears of Themis). #BoycottHYV

Actually good

Tears of Themis is F2P friendly which got me by surprise, especially from how their other games are. I love how you can obtain every character and access all content just by playing the game. It’s refreshing to enjoy such a generous approach where you can focus on the storyline and gameplay without any pressure to make purchases. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates a fair and balanced gaming experience!

Not f2p friendly

I’ve played this game since release, and while the card stories and overall story is good, its impossible to enjoy as a casual player. If you want to collect ALL SSRs from all the boys, let me stop you right there. Even at the highest level, the amount of AP needed during events and daily tasks is so limited unless you spend your s-chips or choose to spend on gems for limited cards. The rotation of cards is also very short (most cards are up for less than a week) and the pity resets EVERY. TIME. Even choosing only one ML to pull for (Luke in my case) I still struggle getting enough s-chips for all his SSR’s, SR and even MR cards. Trust me, I've done all the hard grinding I can even when I cant play as often as I used to. The back-to-back events and SSR cards, whether for all 4 MLs or just one, its hard to keep up not spending some money for. I’m not gonna pretend I havent put money in this game either, I have, but at the very beginning before I realized its never ending. I understand its a gacha and managing your resources is part of it, but unlike Hoyo’s other games like Genshin and Star Rail, getting all the rewards for events feels close to impossible unless u log in multiple times a day or are pay to win. I love the story and characters, but if you’re a completionist I would be careful spending money in this game

Crashes too much to enjoy

If it didn’t crash every few mins or when I was halfway into a chapter it would be amazing, but it ruins the experience once it does. Please fix the app for less recent models. Smooth feature in settings doesn’t do much!
