The famous Ravensburger board game from star designer Stefan Feld.
The Loire Valley during the 15th Century. As influential princes, the players devote their efforts to careful trading and building in order to lead their estates to prominence. Two dice set out the action options, but the players always make the final choices. Whether trading or livestock farming, city building or scientific research, many different paths lead to the prosperity and prominence of the players! The many ways to gain victory points in this building game require careful thought round after round along with extensive planning ahead. Thanks to the different estates, the game remains challenging for the players for a long time, as no two games play out alike. The winner is the player with the most victory points at the end of the game. The tutorial left me a little bit fuzzy on a couple of details, but rereading and playing through a game cleared most of that up. I certainly enjoy the multiple methods to get points, though. It makes for good opportunities for strategy.

Apparently this app version is only for men. The player is consistently referred to with "his." I'm too old to put up with that anymore.
- Kelly Tabor · v111
Frustrating that everytime I open this app it prompts me for my Google Play account... and prompts me again when I open the start game dialog. I only play offline on my commute, so it's adding frustration for an unused feature to an otherwise great mobile adaptation. Devs please either disable the everytime check the first time it's declined or give us an offline button so we can opt out.

I enjoy the solo playing mode and really have seen no problems. Recently, though, I played with my wife in the 2 player local mode and it was a disaster. Multiple times the same player was given 2 turns in a row. when it finally switched to the other player, then that one got 2 turns in a row. I would have thought by now a big this visible would have been fixed. The app is running on my Android tablet.
- Jeff Cushner · v111
A great implementation! The interface squeezes a marvelous amount of information into a very reasonable display. The bots are competent (although I think the medium bot fares better than hard in a larger match). My only complaint is that the animations can be a little janky sometimes.
- Evan Lichty · v111
super cheating dice for bot
- Homey Ch · v110
Ui is OK but it's soo buggy. I've played 6 games with a computer to practice and could even finish half cause it just stuck at some point. No way to save and resume. Need development work and updates to be playable. Don't buy yet
- John Spantidakis · v110
Game is great, but there are some small bugs, some times the tile explanation screen just freeze there you can't get it away.
- Dennis W · v109
Love the game! Have had issues with game play lately though. Unable to refresh and see current games or the game is stuck on a bot player and ends up running out of time. Also have had issues with the game not recognizing that I purchased the extra game boards.

najbojsa namizna igra ki jo lahko igras na telefonu. zaenkrat. hitra
- Petra Vovk (crnikavbojc) · v109
brilliant app! love this game and the app is better than irl. Just wish they had the recent expansions as DLC
- Robert & Tora
Overall good value compared to the physical edition. My only complaint is the same one for all board game adaptations, bots always feel like they're cheating. Even when you play on easy.
- Deane Banker · v109
AI players can take board tiles while having full keys. Glitch or AI cheating?
- Samantha Morgan · v109
Top boardgame high replaybility
- Billy krts · v108
Error on the scoring system. The animal tiles of different type within the same area would accumulate victory point, which is contrary to the rulebook.
- Tony Tong · v108
While the game itself is decent (once played the tabletop version years ago), this mobile port has a horrible tiny interface, disastrous tutorial, and if you need to close the app for whatever reason, you are unable to continue your game. I have no idea how well multiplayer works, my attempts at creating an account were foiled. EDIT re: developer reply: yes, I realize there is a menu option to continue games, however - as others have also reported - this feature is broken in my version
- ian kaplow · v108
The game is fun, but now every time I open it it asks me to enable notifications which I will not do for a game like this... very annoying!
- Kai Asher · v108
Nearly impossible to play. The tutorial doesn't show you how to play clearly, it's hard to select things to do, and I'm still not sure how to even attempt to play this game. Honestly, I want my money back this Gane feels geared towards people who already know how to play it.
- Kristin Bunner · v108
I want a refund, keeps crashing on my phone. Edit: Creator emailed me saying they could provide a key for another game as they can't refund, I asked for a key but haven't heard from them since. So all in all a terrible experience.
- Phil · v108
A technically proficient adaptation of the game, but one of the must needlessly busy, over-designed UIs I think I've ever seen. The BGA implementation is miles ahead.
- Sean O'Neal · v108
even though I already paid for this game, only 2 boards are available while the rest you have to buy as DLC. horrible cash grab
- a n · v108
Thus is a really fun edition of Burgundy! The graphics are maybe a little too flashy for my preference, but it still lovingly captures a very fun game!
- Andrew Weber · v108
Absolutely fantastic digital version of an Absolutely fantastic boardgame. Highly recommend.
- Sean Mahoney · v108
Perfect implementation of a perfect 2-player game. Only nitpick: the 'get workers' action is sometimes irresponsive.
- I Bashar
Love the game, but it stopped sending notifications when it's my turn... and ranked matches should all be played on the same map. its Ok...
- Paolo Maiolo · v108
New update looks better graphically. However there's now a lack of push notifications, meaning that when I play online I have to open the app all the time to see if it's my turn. (Update: I thought this glitch had been addressed after the developer's note but it seems like it still has not).
- Jacob Piehl · v108
Absolutely loving the game ... much more fun with people then ai though
- John Charlebois · v108
Pretty random game, pretty boring
- Jérôme Protat · v108
What a great port of an all-time great game! Super addictive!
- Jake Wynne · v108
Loving the new expansion boards. Would be great to see the expansion tiles become available too.
- Peter Wreford · v108
Alas after the update I need to change my rating and review. The update is bad. It constantly tries to get me to sign into my google acct. I don't want to sign into it, quit asking! The pop up avatar figures are annoying and I can't find a way to turn them off! The color difference between the building and mine hexes seems even closer than before. This went from a five star review to a two star review. The only improvements are the new maps and the fast forward button. 😞
- Paul Pomykala · v108
Great offline game
- Jon Radke · v102
Great game except since the update it freezes on the chromebook so it is no longer playable
- michael raleigh · v102
Could not afford the physical board game so opted for this. Did not dissapoint. Nice game. Good price. Nuff said. Having played several games now i can update my earlier review. Excellent port of the board game and has enough strategy to satisfy the casual player and a depth to entertain the more robust strategist. Any expansions planned ?
- MARK · v17
Save your money... Hasn't been updated in >2 years and won't run on modern phones
- Evan Petzoldt · v17
Not working. Unfortunately the player board/ map will not load up on my tablet! I just get a black screen!
- Alaric Gillard · v17
Great adaption. The animation and feel is really nice, and one of the best i have seen for a board game . I am running on a touch screen Chromebook and works really well.
- Michael Creese · v17
The actual game is very good and the mechanics, on the whole, work well. Why three stars then? Two reasons: 1. EDIT...I have now found a place to load games. 2. Almost every game I play "locks up" during a free action or similar. Maybe the choose panel vanishes with no way to bring it back. The menus and things work so one can surrender. Doing this on the penultimate turn really sucks. EDIT2 This seems to be less common now.
- Jon H · v17
Good game. Takes a while to learn but rather enjoyable.
- Matthew Sydes · v17
why is there no solo mode? also, the appearance of the game is not the cleanest. good enough to scratch that itch, though. just missing the solo mode
- Alexandre Lucena · v17
It costs so much money and doesn't even work, please fix your app.
- Noah Mellor · v17
Very excellent game. The only downside is that there is no points breakdown at the end if the game. Do you are left wondering exactly where yours and your opponents points came from. So give 5 stars if they implement this.
- Ben Shumway · v17
I love this game but the app is useless. I can't play any ships. Please fix this 😃
- Mary Holden · v17
UNPLAYABLE. Tried multiple times to get even a single game passed phase 2 and a whole tile just disappeared from a player's board. The game was so buggy that you couldn't avoid resetting the game multipe times in a single turn if you dared to look at your opponent's board. Do not waste your money. I also want a refund.
- Root Carangalan
Steampunked version of COB: better than the old boring board. Adaptation is well done with minor annoyances (e.g. characters pops up every actions you take and game adds "unknown" boards under the player list when inspecting opponent's mat). Game follows 1st edition rules and has mat 8 you can't remove. Hard AI seems to cheat. Suggest to play vs Medium as it feels more human-ish.
- Emilio Collavino · v17
First time playing and almost won! Works well. It would be nice for individual volume control for fx and music. It has been crashing regularly. I don't care, still love Playing it.
- Eric Mattar-Hurlbut · v17
An exceptional board game and a nice adaptation. Looks nice and lots of multiplayer options
- Peter McDonald · v17
Great implementation. Deducting a star only because there's no option to turn off animations and speed up the game, a la Terraforming Mars app. Still, this is a tremendous port of the tabletop classic.
- John Tomase · v17
Great game. Beautifully and thoughtfully designed with evocative music. Well worth the money.
- Garret D. · v17
Castles of Burgundy is an excellent port of the tabletop. However, the replay value of the app is hindered by AI opponents with super human abilities and dice randomization that takes into account game status when playing. The AI opponent levels differ in terms of what they buy and not how they play. The dice randomizer will negatively affect you if you are in the lead. The randomizer also appears to look at your board when deciding its outcome. The dice randomizer needs to be 100% random.
- Keith Schultz · v17
Great app, great game. I am learning to play through the app, having never played the board game in real life... but it is nice to have the computer take care of the pieces and phases, and it moves the game along quickly. I thought that my app was glitching, but I realized that I was trying to place a duplicate building in my city which is not allowed.... it would be nice if it had a pop-up that explained why certain moves aren't legal, for those of us just learning.
- Paula Derbyshire · v17
Great implementation, but the unnecessay animations really slow down the game. It discourages me from playing sometimes because I get too impatient. They need to add a turbo mode.
- Timur Tabi · v17
