Big fan of A Dark Room, enjoyed this one too. An overall simpler experience of the exploration portion of the prior game, but I appreciated the extra lore and worldbuilding of this one :)

no where near as good as the original dark room game. rapid gear degradation makes exploring a chore, other mechanics of the game very much an extension of the original (combat, movement exploring, visuals etc) story line not engaging and difficult to interpret, constantly having to replace high tier gear, and loosing combat due to gear failing is the nail in the coffin.

Just not very fun. I loved the original but this takes the difficulty and resource gathering too far.
- Anomalocaris X (Anomalocaris) · v19.10
Awful follow-up to A Dark Room. It re-uses much of the gameplay with none of the mystery or charm, and throws in juvenile Rick Astley references? Instead of an unfolding incremental game it's a deliberately annoying survival game that you have to constantly restart as you grind for resources. Not recommended even at the cheap price.
- T. Ashworth · v19.10
as good as the first game, I highly recommend playing both of them but do play A dark room first I feel makes the Ensign feel more fleshed out
- Cristescu Stefan Cosmin · v19.10
so much fun! loved this.
- Alisa Fry · v19.10
Played this years ago as a kid back when I had an iPhone glad its finally on Andriod. Wish this developer makes more games I really love his game I wouldnt mind playing some of his games if it went to steam. if you guys have the same itch for this type of games the closest thing you can probably get is Magic Research 1&2
- Kenmeth · v19.10
Waited about 10 years for this to be ported to android. it has been worth the wait! I finished A Dark Room years ago, started The Ensign and awitched to android. 705 Mins, wanted to make sure i had finished everything before leaving this review. the ending is fantastic, forced me to replay to find everything. Love the concept of "You cant have your cake and eat it too" Play A Dark Room FIRST!!!! Amazing game!
- DJ Parallax · v19.10
The Ensign and A Dark Room are masterpieces. There is no other word to describe the games and the experience of playing them. They are the game that I recommend to literally everyone. 100% going to play it again and again because they're awesome.
- Casey Clifford · v19.6
I loved it. I loved the first one and then I loved this one even more. I will say there is no one to gather resources in this one, but besides that the gameplay was very similar, just expanded upon. I highly recommend it!
- Katie Davis · v19.6
fun
- Alyssa · v19.6
This was super fun and reviews under 3 stars don't understand the point of the game
- jasmine francis · v19.6
When once clicked during load/"screen refresh", game required forced restart. Game is on brutality mode, death means complete loss of progress, which I really hated. I didnt know this before purchase, too. Its purely adventure and no idle game components. In the predecessor nothing can really go wrong. Here, between death are little messages that critize you for dying. The devs made finishing the game challenging and "earned". For me this was a big contrast and disappointment.

ABSOLUTELY ADDICTIVE AND SO MUCH FUN you should play this rn
- Caelan Marshall · v19.6
A fun addition to A Dark Room built around the original adventure mechanic, only much more punishing and difficult. For the people who are invested in the story and lore of the game, this will serve as a nice treat. Overall, very much worth the small price to get this game.
- Isaac · v19.6
Just okay compared to A dark room. It's basically just the exploration bit of dark room, no building. Just kinda ok.
- Kyle Guyon · v19.1
Great 👍
- Gavin Thorpe · v19.1
This game rickrolled me 5/5
- Lomi · v19.1
No accessibility? I was so hype from playing the previous game is this game accessible for the blind?
- Chris Larios · v19.1
A nice follow up that deepens the story
- Christopher Musgrave · v19.1
Loved this game
- Gradi Purner · v19.1
Not even remotely as good as A Dark Room.
- Nathaniel McCann · v18.0
I really liked a dark room, so naturally went for this onex Similar gameplay loops, but some of the end game taunting does break my immersion a bit
- Thomas Heaney · v18.0
I can't believe this game is only 2 bucks. I'm trying to get other endings and while it's hard it's mostly because I keep jumping ahead. Prequel to a dark room (another good game I downloaded with game pass) I'm having loads of fun with it even though I'm being taunted every time I die lmao. Would not recommend if you don't like text adventures but is a joy if you do.
- Megan Rosenblum · v18.0
Awesome game. Finally on Android after around a decade of waiting. Thank you so so much for this masterpiece of indie art
- Jose Reyes · v18.0
The developer of this game has shocked me agian with a second amazing game in the universe of ADR. I always thought about the history of what happened before I lit my fire in ADR and now can experience that. thank you Amir.
- Nathan Sorensen · v18.0
I've patiently been waiting only a decade to play this on Android🥲
- Ben Abele · v18.0
I have been anxiously waiting for this to get to android! Thank you!
- Juliet Haché · v18.0
No. No , you won't like it.
- Jason Hawks · v18.0
I first played a dark room though play pass. I was a little hesitant to pay for this after seeing so few downloads but decided to and it was very much worth it. This prequel is longer and more difficult than the original and I really enjoyed it. Definitely with the $2.
- Danny Radden · v18.0
I'm enjoying "a dark room", so I know this is going to be great! I wish you good luck and thank you!
