Townscaper

Love Townscaper ! Bought it in the MS store so installed on my X and my PC, and on my phone through Play Pass. Not a lot of games get that treatment. my big gripe with the Android port is the limited, non growable grid, which limits the size of projects, for no good reason : my phone has 12 gigs of RAM and my PC 16. Please update Android port so we can grow the grid like on PC. Also, I'd love a proper but basic first person walking sim capability to explore our projects. Cheers! 🥂

Boring It is a game without a point. I play a lot of building sims and this isn't one. Because of some issues I have in some of them that relate to disability but can make some unplayable I read the reviews and thought great. Nothing happens. Reviews made it seem like something did. There is no consequence to design. It does not really appear to be a game. I question the lack of people saying as much.

great game on pc! same here, frame rate is locked to 30. I love the game I do. but even after changing the settings for the game to run past 30, it's stuck. this is on a fold 8. hopefully there is a fix. otherwise, amazing.

A relaxing and enjoyable city builder with no goals other than your own creativity, I enjoy my hour or so playing the game albeit without goals to achieve my interest waned rather quickly. I'm sure others will get more out of this and I appreciate it for what it is. I played through Google Play Pass so it was easy to take advantage of playing it for free.

I really enjoy this, it's relaxing and right up my alley. I do wish we would see people and animals spawn in. I've seen people mention an infinite grid, but mine is limited once I start building. It would be nice to change the roof colors. Or a way to add more details and change features / types of buildings. But this is a simple game, and that would be changing it pretty significantly.

What’s next?

As much as I appreciate this game, I can’t help but feel I’m holding on to it hoping for an update. There’s so much potential nowadays. Even the slightest addition to the game can be effective. Can we have little people come in and out of buildings or something? Can we building on plains or hillsides? Something. Wanting to let go, but not wanting to. But I can’t play it anymore because it’s not having the same effect as it did 4 years ago.

Really fun game! I've played for two hours already and I love it. The problems are mostly just annoyances. There's a lot of room for improvement, but nothing that is wrong or bad. I wish you could generate a world/save that was completely paved instead of just water I wish there were more styles and more colors for the buildings. At some point they all start looking really similar. And sometimes it's really hard to connect islands with paths because the grid isn't made up of standard squares.

It's a relaxing game, though there's not as much variety as I would like. The touch controls also don't completely work; I can't 'very' long press to change color. The fun is mostly about the architecture; you have little control over how the buildings/decor looks. It's fun to build multi-layer crazy buildings, and there are different interactions between blocks. What is there is *really* great which is why I rated it a 4, but if it were even slightly less enjoyable it would probably be a 1.

I love Townscaper and spend a lot of time building towns. One thing I'd love to see added is little people walking around, sitting on benches, standing on docks, and living in the towns we create. I think it would make the towns feel much more alive and add even more value to an already great game.

I once downloaded this game at 2022 and had to re-install this game on 2023. The fences, flags, trees and bushes don't appear anymore. I don't really know why it's happening, maybe some error or bug? I have purchased this game, is it possible that purchased app also has updates? Was a cozy game indeed, after all. Edit: I have tried to reach the developer for supports but there are no responds at all. I don't know what else I can do so now I have not downloading it again. Really disappointed :((

Quiet Creative Playtime

I love this app. It’s creative and soothing. It’s the perfect antidote to a long, stressful day. I’m surprised by how often I find myself playing it. I’m not sure if there are plans to develop this game further, but just in case, here’s my wishlist: 1. I’d love to be able to walk down the street and experience the alleys, edges, and squares. 2. It would be great to have more explicit building types to choose from — stores, schools, homes, religious buildings, and so on. 3. It would be amazing if people and horse & buggies auto-populated the town the way the birds do now. 4. I’d also love the ability to create patches of trees or land. Thank you for making this app.

Incomplete,

I had high hopes for Townscaper and I love the mechanics of it…but it’s boring and repetitive. I’m not sure what purpose it’s supposed to serve and it feels more like a demo than a game you actually paid for. There’s only so much you can do with the same couple of shapes, colors, and builds to repurpose. What I love about building games it leaves your mind open to imagination, to create a world from starch and tell a story from it. I touched it a couple times before logging off because, what else can you do if it gives you nothing? I wish it would get an update since, I played several of the games from this studio and seem to run into the same problems relating to the issues I have with this game and I hope that changes since they’re filled with so much unfinished potential.

This game was something I saw on instagram and thought “why not?”, turns out this game is highly addictive and turns hours of Boredom into hours of fun. Really cute and really cozy game but the limited map size makes it really biting very quickly since you are very limited in designing some cool and big cities. You can do lots of little projects but thst gets repetitive quickly. I would like the option to expand the grid much further if the device can handle it and / or make some optimisations so not all blocks are loaded all the time but being able to continue endlessly! That way you can always continue and improve the one city.

I got this game since it looked fun, and I was right! No crazy interface, just tap to place/remove. This is great and I ended up playing for much longer than intended. If there is any plan to include future updates, I would love to see the ability to walk through the town in first person! Themes

I enjoy this game very much, and I have which I think is a great idea that I will surely love if it ever happens. THEMES! When you open the app, if you want to make a new town, after you click “new button” it will take you to a “themes” screen, in this screen you could just pick to do the normal Townscaper but you could also pick “Christmas” “Halloween” or “Easter” these don’t have to be the exact themes it could be ANYTHING. Once you pick your theme, it will take you to the normal game. But for example, if Halloween theme gets added to the game, let’s say the water is green to represent toxic waste, the buildings will have a much more October color with little details like pumpkins or anything related to Halloween, even skeletons! Im sorry if I’m bad at explaining, but hopefully this gets seen, if this ever happens, the update will surely make me happy.

I would live to give this 5 stars but it has 2 big issues. on some maps the height of buildings can go very high but it's not he same in every map. Thats terrible. Second, the grid does not allow you to make big rectangular buildings or arc based ones - that's very disturbing for neurodivergent builders like myself.

This is a great relaxing game that I could play for hours every day. I wish there was a way to have different grid patterns though e.g. squares and circles as the one is unpredictable.I also wish there were different building designs and a way to add my own little details (trees, bushes, bins etc) it would be cool to see boats in the water if I built a certain thing that resembles a harbour and have wooden docks to build out to the water. This game supports and runs well on 32bit devices and is completely offline. Supports both portrait and landscape modes. And can also backup and restore save data locally on android/data, that's cool. Unfortunately the map is limited and there is no option to make the room wider, and there is a limit to making buildings taller. The rest is perfect 👑

The best cozy game I've seen in a long time and the most relaxing. I take away the star that is missing from the 5 because it would need more interaction of living things with the structures, humans, more animals to make it more perfect. Fun bit frustrating controls

It’s really fun but if you try to build something very tall it doesn’t let you zoom in one the bottom. One would think you’d be able to use the arrows on your keyboard to move the camera or the trackpad to zoom in and out, but apparently not. Developers, PLEASE read this. I really want to like the game but this is just completely killing it for me and it feels like it should be an easy fix. Especially since those controls are currently doing nothing.

This game would be amazing if it had randomly generated towns, people or things that were generated only certain ways under certain conditions It would be so easy to add an achievement system for making certain shapes and spawning certain townspeople

The Crown of the Casual

This game is, like seen in the title, The Crown of the Casual. I play this in my free-er time (AKA when I’m not giving myself heart attacks playing survival games). But, of course, every game comes with a little puzzle piece missing, or more. The suggestions presented are a mix of my and others’ thoughts. 1. Quality of Life Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of lifelike elements like chairs, plants, benches and even gulls, but the town looks almost scared with the absence of people on the streets. So, as I’ve implied, people would be a nice addition, riding ‘round in little carts (or 50’s cars if you’re going more recent) and boats which could be given a specific path or have a procedurally generated path. Specifically vehicles, or if that’s just too big of a scope, little people. Just little people. Also, as extras, you could add little streetlights so that there’s more light than just windows, and maybe even a way to just walk around the place, going where you please. Except in houses. I could imagine that would be a nightmare to develop, or just be unnecessary. 2. Room for Creativity Now, while there’s plenty of fun little combinations and such to experiment with, it would be nice to have things like material options (for example: wood, metal, etc.) or even terrain options (for example: grass, sand, trees, etc.). It would add to the experience. These options would be similar to the color picker for the house, keeping that effortless, calm town-making aspect while still bringing more options to the player. Of course, not all of these might be necessary, but it’s still a big game changer when you think about little cars moving about houses, little boats loitering, grass hills and trees near the gentle water’s edge, and little shacks the lands share. If you read through this whole essay of ideas I had, thank you, whether or not you add them.

Borders are restrictive

I think that the game should have infinite, or at least a larger border. The game is quite restrictive and I think that it not worth the price. I like the game and I’ve made. Some quaint towns, but the game hasn’t been changed much. The only changes have been a few small bug fixes.

Good game

This game is awesome, really fun to play, but it would be so much better if there were people that walked around living anonymous lives. It would also be cool if there were different materials rather than just different colors. For example you could make a wooden, broken down shack, or you could make a metal skyscraper, or a brick cabin. Having different materials and people would add so much to the game.

Very calming and fun

You can build basically whatever you want and it’s really peaceful when you place down something. I think it was definitely worth it for 5 dollars. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone!

Relaxing but too expensive

This game is basically 5 dollars for nothing. The game is relaxing a bit but you can’t customize your town. Clicking just allows you to 1. Place paths and 2. Place houses now depending on where you place the blocks it can vary the town create balconies and hang laundry or creat arches but it’s out of your control. It does what it wants to do. I think it’s a really fun game. If I knew more about it I’d say it’s worth 2 dollars and I paid 5. I’m disappointed that’s all.

This game is beautiful! I have been really looking for a cozy game to enjoy my free time playing. It’s an escape from social media and the outside world. I feel very simple but also creative when playing and the only other game that I feel this with is Theotown! I love this game very much. Thank you so much to the Devs for this wonderful concept. I have one request. Could you maybe put little people in the game? I would love to see little people interacting with the places I’ve built, perhaps even making their own little additions like potted plants or flags of children playing would be so beautiful. That’s all, thank you so much again!

Very nice and simple game.

This game is very cute and aesthetic. It’s the only game I ever play because of how cute and peaceful it is. I have it 4 stars though because I really really wish the developer would add more features to the game.

I think it’s the best game I bought with money behind Minecraft , it’s just to simple to give it a 5 , I think you should add like bridges , cars , boats , styles of houses for example like Italian German American British or modern style in the setting , and add more animals like cats and dogs , the most important one is the biom , you should me able to make the ground grass or anything , please read this and make it an update
