Very fun while they allow you to play the game early on. As soon as you reach the second stage of the game, you get incessantly pushed 30 to 60 sec ads without warning or being able to opt out. You are also forced to start over with a new family before the 3rd generation even exists... is this really a generation/family tree game then? So disappointed, it was good at the start

I really like this game but the ads ruin the game experience. I'm fine with choosing to watch ads for rewards, which is implemented in this game although those are buggy and sometimes don't pay out the reward too, but you additionally have sudden unskippable 50 second ads during gameplay which is unacceptable. Really sad since it's otherwise a great game.

I enjoyed the game for less than 24 hours before it started bombarding me with adverts every 2-3 mins! Also found events where if there wasn't enough family members to do a task the task couldn't be skipped causing me to have to end a family story twice which was irritating. didn't even get to day 2 before uninstalling. Such a shame as I would have played it a lot but I'm not paying £10 just to get rid of ads!!!

This would be a really great game if they did better with their ads. They need to make it clear which options require watching an ad and with won't. Also, every other game I've played will only have super short ads that can be closed after a seconds if they pop up automatically. This game automatically plays full length ads out of no where frequently and with no warning. There's one ad that keeps popping up that opens the online version of that game when you try to close it!

I have been playing this game for a few weeks now or so and I really enjoy it. It is very challenging to finish the events and I feel it has only gotten more difficult. I paid to get rid of pop up ads which saves some time while trying to play here and there but I still end up watching optional ads like crazy just to stay alive through the event storylines. if you don't mind ads it is free to play but you end up spending more time watching ads than getting to play in my opinion.

It's fun to pass time with. Many events that makes you strategize. The con of the game is you can't see the previous family you had (I got attached to the first one and would have love seeing them) and going forward is quite difficult, especially with just buying more upgrade for the house. Sometimes the progression between events is too fast, I don't even have a chance to look at things or tap on my house to buy a room, because new events happen every 2 seconds. The merge aspect was unexpected. A lot of the same events repeat for different characters, that's boring. Sometimes there is no good or rational option. I uninstalled mostly because of forced ads. Tons of other games exist with optional ads or being able to pay to remove them.

Initially, the first story was great, where you could choose to watch an ad for more rewards or not, but the ads have gotten crazy; most games let you know an ad will be playing, but this one doesn't—you just click an option to move the game forward and they hit you with an ad. I want to love this game, but there are some major problems. I absolutely love the game itself as I've been enjoying building massive legacies. The stories are interesting. I would love it more if there was a creative mode without the challenges. The ads can be very disruptive as sometimes they are too frequent. The game does become too difficult if you are a free player as the challenges are almost impossible to pass without power ups which are hard to get (or you have to buy them).

I understand helping my children and grandchildren, but their spouses are grown adults with their own responsibilities. I actually really enjoy this game, the ads were too constant, but I enjoyed it so much I actually did go ahead and pay the £10 to remove them. I will say, that is quite steep, however, there is actually a lot of effort put into this, the stories and choices are so broad, the eras, 1100s-2000s, its unique. Great game!

This game is 60% fun, but it indirectly pushes you to have a lot of resources—whether that's plenty of in-game resources, strong characters, or enough "magic apples" to save yourself if the characters in your family don't develop well. Fun at first, but the levels quickly become pretty much impossible to clear (less than an hour playing, and you'll already have reached the point where you can't complete the level without spending real money or replaying 100+ times to gather resources), and you start to enter into ad-pocalypse. So many ads you either are forced to choose to watch to not instantly fail the level at that point, or ads that you can't skip at all showing up when picking literally any option given.

Developers Have Abandoned Their Own Game

Family Go! was released on July 23, 2025, and it’s honestly disappointing to see the game in this state less than a year later.. WE WERE ALMOST TO ONE FULL YEAR! I used to genuinely enjoy this game, playing it DAILY, but after this latest update last week it’s become nearly impossible to play. For over a week now, the game has been plagued with constant lagging, freezing, force closing, and “No Network Connection” errors, even when connected to strong WiFi or 5G. This isn’t an isolated issue. Thousands of players have been posting screenshots, videos, and complaints in the official Facebook community describing the exact same problems. What’s even more disappointing than the broken update is the developers’ response, or lack of one. Your own community has been flooded with reports, yet there’s been absolutely ZERO meaningful communication and no timely fix. Releasing an update is only part of the job. Maintaining it, monitoring it, and communicating with your players when something goes wrong is just as important. Many of us have invested months into this game, and some players have spent REAL money supporting it. Seeing the game left in this state for a week while players continue reporting the same issues sends the message that player experience isn’t being treated with the urgency it deserves. At this point, I don’t care about new events or flashy updates. I just want a game that actually works. IF and WHEN this is finally fixed, I hope the developers understand that a generic apology and a handful of in game rewards won’t erase the frustration of losing access to gameplay, events, progress, and features for so long. Do better. Your players deserve better.
