I have been a loyal player of this game for the past 6 years, but lately it feels like the game is designed only for players who keep spending more and more money. After the latest Erthia 32-3 Twisted Tunnels update, Hard Mode has become nearly impossible to complete. Most opponents are actually Divine Herald level, but they appear as Divine Descendant, making the matchmaking feel unfair and misleading. The game used to reward skill and strategy. Now it feels heavily pay-to-win.

A new chapter opened and it'll be like a year before I can even access it unless I dump a lot of money into this game. I like the app. The interface between my iTunes subscription for weekly VIP status sometimes goes off on its own. Says I am not subscribed when I am, and the game freezes up on me cause me to reinstall the game to play again.

Sad User

I have enjoyed this game for over 4 years. My first account was on sever NA1. I have found the gaming experience to be very immersive and worth a 5 star rating. Not all is perfect by any means. The various factions are not well balanced, but I have still been able to play the game and have fun. Recently I made a mental mistake. I want to purchase a unit and inadvertently selected the wrong unit. I had saved resources for over 6 weeks and therefore asked Customer Support if they could swap the units out. In their response they were nice but basically said not going to do it. Over the years I have spent about a $1000USD on this game, more than any other mobile game. To be said no when they have the ability is to me piss poor customer support and loyalty. So for that I give them a 0 for customer support and a 2 overall. At least my checking account is happy.

after HoMM5 the pc games got really horrible. and even 5 was too focused on graphics over gameplay, but at least it still kept the same visual and gameplay mechanics as the others. I downloaded this hoping it would be similar to the old games since it was actually ubisoft, who sadly owns the franchise now (I miss new world computing). it's not. not only is it not similar, it's another card game acting like a collection is progression, I think the younguns call them gatcha games.

Worked months and finally was first place on my server. 1 week later they merged us with no warning. went from top to barely holding 6th place. Play for fun but don't waste your money. As soon as you start to make head way they wipe it out with a new unit or a merger.

There’s a lot to do with extremely slow and tedious progress, that really gets you nowhere. Over 1/2 the units are completely behind paywalls. So without spending thousands of dollars you’ll never even be able to collect most of the units, let alone compete in the end game.

Used to be great

I played this game for a long time. The things I loved about it are still there: factions that influence rosters, formations, pvp tournaments, etc. Sadly, the drive to release new, more powerful, content has ruined this game in my opinion. Hero ultimate spells went from strategic targeting of key areas and moments or mild unit buffs to massively influential full battlefield spells, combined with commander and champion units that influence the entire field, and pvp combat has just become a stat check with flashy graphics obscuring the actual combat. It’s fun to play a new server for a month or two, but the longer you play the more the enticing elements of the game devolve into a race for op units and heroes while units and heroes that made the game interesting and we’re more balanced get relegated to off-battlefield stat buffing roles.

I would absolutely spend a large amount of time and money on this if it was more like homm3!!! It actually has a lot of potential and odd kinda close. but the monsters move on their own most of the time and it makes combat boring. All this game needs is a tiny rework!!! So I can go to gather materials in the open world like a small free roam map, and the ability to control my creatures and move them strategically! Honestly if you add these things to it, this world be a homm3 revival like never before and I think I speak for a very large amount of people when I say that that’s what we want most of all in the world today. Great game that went overly complex

I played up to lvl 90 and, about 3 years ago, I quit. It became too much of a daily chore. Too many options, too many activities. To many different time consuming ways to ultimately just tweak the stats. Today I jumped back in to see if anything had changed. It has. It’s even more complex and time consuming! I get all these updates are meant to keep players attention but ultimately turned the game into a grind and then a slog and ultimately more chore than fun. Not to mention all the new features cost - time or money. This approach might work for others, but I find this game was better (and more fun) in the original days when it was more simple and straightforward.

Stuck on mostly inactive server

I like the game. It’s cool to see how they pulled together a bunch of the classic might and magic tales and similar battle logic (although not turn based) into a new format. My main issue with the game is the server architecture. Even though a server is “Full” there’s no indication of activity. After some time you may be left on a dead server with only a handful of very advanced players and stuck in a mostly dead guild with no way to move to a new server or take along the investments made in the guild or your character. Will probably play for a bit longer but mostly ready to quit due to this. This comes into play especially when attempting to “awaken” units in missions that require server based p2p style combat. Advancing unites in that case can eventually become nearly impossible due to this gap.

Cash Grab

This game pulls you in with their gameplay, but not long after I began to realize how awful this game is. There are way too many things that have no proper instructions, guide or description and they are constantly advertising purchases of $100. And I mean a lot. I’d say about 1/3 of their purchases they have are above $50. The game is not as tactical as it makes itself sound; most of the time you’ll be way more powerful than your opponents and sometimes all I had to do was move my units around some to win. Don’t be fooled by the quick progress. I’ve literally played what feels like dozens of these kinds of games and this is probably one of the worst

I have gotten to the point if I don’t have maxed out heroes… I will lose every time. The game is no fun when you have to spend $400-$600 to max a hero up and don’t forget all the Diamond guzzling services to get said hero powered up in to many ways. There is a lack of consistency in how everything not streamlined. If you have tons of disposable income this is the game for you.

DON’T SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME

This past weekend there was a malfunction with Battle Scars where the game was giving them out for free. Or so I thought. In actuality the game was using my diamonds ( about 10,000 that I paid for) for the Battle Scars. I contacted support to have them remove the Battle Scars and give me the diamonds back. They refused so I am now out real money for this game. Ubisoft, you have lost a faithful customer!!

Crap developers banning after not giving items paid for

After years of game play I got banned over 1.99 chargeback only after asking for a refund on an item I did not get. Stay far away from this game. I ran a guild, the main guild on our server. Your guys automatic response was to ban and not believe me over 100 mooncakes… and I spent thousands of hours and dollars playing this game, you guys are suspicious and made an incredibly bad business decision since others are quitting as a result of my absence… you are a terrible representation for apple play store as well.
