Secret of Mana—the landmark action RPG first released for SNES in 1993!
Initially released in Japan in 1993, Secret of Mana took the world by storm with its innovative real-time battle system and gorgeously rendered world. It continues to stand out among other action RPGs for its seamless gameplay that anyone from beginner to veteran can enjoy. One of the most memorable elements of the Mana series is the Ring Command menu system. With the single press of a button, a ring-shaped menu appears on the screen, where players can use items, change weapons, and do a variety of other actions without needing to switch screens. This Ring Command menu system for which the Mana series is so well known was first introduced in Secret of Mana and has since appeared in most games in the series. Play as Randi and his two companions, Primm and Popoi, as they adventure all around the world. At the center of our epic story is the mystical power of Mana. Battle the empire in its quest for control of Mana. Befriend the eight elementals who wield the forces of nature itself. Numerous encounters await at every turn. This game supports peripheral controllers.

please add the ability to save files to the cloud. I lost a weeks worth of game play after one of your updates.
- Slashdotjeo · v3.4.3
Well-responsive for an app version of a SNES game. Just tapping to get your character moving via joystick can cause an attack. Two-finger touch brings up your selection menus, nice in place of the corner menu. You lose a few animation frames, some may despise it. Generally downgraded in appearance, but I've always been a 'how does the game PLAY?' kinda guy. It really works well for touchscreen controls. If I were asking, if an offline mode became available, that'd make it 5 stars from me.
- TheOnlyDibbs · v3.4.3
Can't play offline! When I purchased this I was able to play offline. Now it states that I need to purchase it when I'm offline. It's pointless to have a game to play when there's no internet (ie 1 to 14 hour flight), that I can't play without internet. -4 for DRM +1 for nostalgia
- Chris Skinner · v3.4.3
Terrible execution. Original game is fantastic but this app version will not allow you to play because any time you have bad service or no wifi the game will block you from playing and claim you have not purchased the license. The controls are finicky and do not work well. Even for $4 on sale it is not worth it. Just buy from Nintendo on the switch or get on steam.

I purchase game a while ago I don't understand why I can't manually back up the save files to the cloud or why it doesn't have a cloud sync. if you're the type of person it keeps your phone for a super long time I guess it's fine but until there's an online save option whether it's manual or automatic one star.
- Carl Valentine · v3.3.0
This deserves a way higher rating. The fact this game is even on mobile is great and a peak example of a good port.
- Colin McClintock · v3.4.3
Gameplay is finicky, sometimes character attacks when I try to move left up down or right when trying to hold/charge an attack, which is absolutely devastating in a game that relies on those charge ups. Graphics are terrible, should have just kept the SNES graphics. The new enemy, terrain textures are terrible, water reflection... nothing looks right. Seems this game is destined to receive shotty remasters and remakes.
- Geoffrey McEvers · v3.4.3
eh...paid for the game, but no clouds sync...are you kidding!!!!
- come2papa · v3.4.3
just garbage. Stop selling this stuff if your not gonna update it. Makes me want to pirate everything. not okay.
- Brittany Diaz · v3.4.3
Frequently crashes mid game.
- LaPhroaigZed · v3.4.3
The 4-slot customizable sidebar is really great. Saves a lot of time when planning to repeatedly use specific spells during combat. The touchscreen maybe hard to use but, external controller is supported which helps very much!
- rEsonansDx · v3.4.3
1. If there is a possibility to add cloud save data like other Mana Series (e.g. Legend of Mana and Adventures of Mana), please do add. It is frustrating that my progress cannot be brought to other phone. 2. Please fix the fps of the game, SNES version looks fine when it comes to movement.

Don't know what's wrong ng with everyone else! Game works and is awesome! Just like it was nearly 30 years ago!!!
- Adam Jensen · v3.4.2
Online only for a SNES port... really?
- Travis Badger
yeah, I can have this game.
- kalvin lewis · v3.4.2
Update 11-3-25: SquareEnix has fixed the controls to the point the game is playable with USB/Bluetooth controllers again. It's still glitchy if you use Android with a mouse, but it's functional. They also fixed the purchasing system to restore my purchase which was previously, and wrongfully, blocked.
- TheCaptain · v3.4.2
offline game that requires internet to aithenticate it every launch!
- Scott Parsons · v3.4.2
10/2025 review from a 20se android phone thing. the game works great. game changer right here= there is an auto save! busy? put the your device down? no problem!! Only 2 minor annoying things (other than the annoying stuff from the original game)- hard to hold charge attacks (might be my phone) still can play game effectively - once in a while the walk button gets stuck in an odd place and may or maynot require closing the game to fix, depending. this only happened 3 times my entire play through
- Rydia Moon · v3.4.2
It's pretty decent and close to the original in graphical terms only, but the big things that brings this title down is not having the ability of co-op play like the original. The graphics appear blurry and don't offer clarity when playing. The controls seem to jumpy and do not fit well with touch screen. The game will also lock you out of playing if you do not have internet, and accuse you of not paying for it. complete trash!
- Travis V (D2D) · v3.4.2
Secret of Evermore next please!!!
- Matthew S · v3.4.2
game is indisputable 10/10. however controls are rather clunky and for some reason I cannot play offline. kinda struggle to see what is the point then. rip
- Derice Reid · v3.4.2
it's a good game but will not let you play it without checking licence online first ... I do not always have internet connection everywhere I go and this is usually when I turn to playing games. I have no issues with any other square enix games ..
- martin p · v3.4.2
cannot play the game offline. it says you may not have not purchased game. now my save files have been deleted. how do I get a refund?
- Samuel Culberson · v3.4.2
need part 2 of it n iso n engineering
- James Moore · v3.4.2
loved this game since 1992 when it came out. This is one of the most immortal mastetpieces in the history of the gaming experience. I just Wish Trials of Mana (Secret of Mana 2) would also be made available from Square Enix, in the original pixel graphics👆
- Sean O'Farrell · v3.4.2
really enjoying this version of the holy sword legend ( Japanese original name) it is bright cheery and fun to play i will say that it doesn't run as well as the original snes/ super famicom version but for the low price i cannot complain 😊.if you are using just your phone for gaming then please give it a try you won't regret it plus it has controller support and if i were you i would stay away from the touch control lol it's not pleasant. thank you very much.
- ゲイリーダメラム · v3.4.2
I've been extremely disappointed in this game. Seems most others notice the concerns with controls, albeit I have a few other issues: 1) The ring menu will essentially save sporadically to one previously used, and you cannot scroll down no matter what menu it's on you have to scroll up 2) The AI for your party is 10x worse than the original. 3) You require Internet connection to play the game .... 🤦♂️
- Just A person · v3.4.2
Controls make the game unplayable. Left is up sometimes. Holding attack charges you weapon except when it doesn't. I lost all input several times, even in town. I don't have any problems with the other games I play that use that control style, so it's not my phone. Waste of money. Never buying another mobile Square game ever again.
- Daniel Nordness
Just bought the game yesterday, and it's already crashed on me 10 times... Not what I would expect from a game I paid for... Love this game wish ut would work right!!

- Michael Gregory · v3.4.2
A game of its Era Its a challenging story from beginning to end not many may be able to complete; but to the die hard and classic gamers out there its simply amazing experience to have been there from start when this game was out. now that my age is reminding me of how much I struggle playing this game on console, but in the end I did enjoy that time spent even so, I wonder if there is still so fun to have and relive from my past enjoyment again maybe its soundtrack and gameplay that bring me...
- Uriel Maciel · v3.4.2
Would have given 5 stars hands down BUT can't play without internet -4.5 stars. Can't play because i don't have the license to play it but I paid 15 bucks for the game... make.it make sense
- Jaimelescrepes · v3.4.2
The game lags and feels like it plays at less than 30 fps, which makes combat and movement frustrating.
- Derek Hidey · v3.4.2
It's amazing exactly like how I remembered it please bring back more could you guys mabey do an update so we can play this game offline please 😭❤️💯
- Salvador Shanta · v3.4.2
It's not a perfect port of a beloved classic, but at least you play it offline, unlike AoM and ToM. If you don't like it, get the collection of mana instead. I'll play it because it doesn't need your Google Play account. Despite its obvious flaws, I'll give it a chance. I wish that AoM and ToM are offline as well.
- Chance Williams231 · v3.4.2
One of the worst games for rag doll
- Richard B (AkaScythe) · v3.4.2
Not a pleasant experience. The touch screen controls are awful. Just awful. Things don't improve much with a controller. It struggles with 8-way direction, often locking in and not allowing for seamless movement. It's also less than 30fps. Like... It chugs in a disgusting manner. Finally, the graphics are ugly. SoM on the Snes is my favourite game ever. This is what we have at home. Modern detailing with classic visuals will always be an awful look. Emulate this game instead.
- Ethereal Blaze
Why do i need a constant internet conection to play when its a single player game with zero multiplayer functionalities...
- M. Cruz · v3.4.2
Since when it needs internet? It is needed to check the licence it was not necessary before. Now it is completely useless when playing on the go, especially on planes. Frustrating
- Florian Velcker · v3.4.2
No way to go back to the main menu when you're in a game. Don't know but this could be how the original was.
- Law 86 · v3.4.2
There are a lot of softlocks. These softlocks make you invulnerable, unable to hit enemies, and enemies like the final boss are unable to be targeted with important sword attacks. I never had the pleasure of finishing this game from my childhood. So, I figured why not buy this version. Well, I made it to the end of the game, but cannot finish, which is disappointing to say the least.
- Lurkingewd · v3.4.2
Still not let me save on onyfile
- D Coleman
The game won't work because it fails the license check at the beginning.
- Christian Leu · v3.4.2
I Love 💕 it 🌈😁!!!
- Ralf Sanchez · v3.4.2
I played this game so much as a child it was an amazing find when I had a long haul flight coming up and needed some entertainment. Imagine my extreme frustration when I opened the game ready to pass the time in nostalgia-ville and I'm presented with a "can't validate purchase of game" error due to me being offline! Game is 100% unusable if it cannot talk to the servers despite essentially the whole game being downloaded locally. Absolutely ridiculous IMO as other Square games work fine. Fix!!!!
- Cameron D. · v3.4.2
Why does it need access to camera and photos? Please help
- Ivan Ramales · v3.4.2
It's 2024 and the persistent DRM check is still present. FFS make it playable OFFLINE already or are you one of those game developers who love to scam customers?
- Darwin Cruz · v3.4.1
Will always love this game. However this port almost ruined it for me I understand wanting to turn the difficulty up but wow you guys went straight to a 1000 dont recommend it for a newcomer and I suggest brushing up your skills if you've played the original.
- Joel McClintock · v3.4.1
I've tried opening it three different ways (in store, apps menu, and screen) and it doesnt even open it freezes just opening it please fix this for the BLU Life tab and ill revise my rateing
