EDIT: Progress just kind of stops. Levels get too tough to complete and you get 90% of resources for improvement from completing levels. So, definitely pay-to-win. Generally a good game, playing is lots of fun. The controls for mobile are quite awkward and often don't respond the way you expect or want them to, the short timer makes this worse. Strong pay-to-win vibes and progress is slow and not exciting.

Developers response is openly lying. Extreme monetisation, extremely limited gameplay without spending. Game is F2p for a few hours. After that extreme throttling kicks in to the point of unplayability. A waste of time from a company that lacks basic honesty and integrity. Definately a miss.

Interesting gameplay, the puzzle play style is unlike anything I've played before. So many events! If you find a good guild to play with, it's lots of fun. Seems fairly good for F2P so far... and I have played many of these types of games. Recommended.

edit; three years later and I'm still playing this. it's still a great game with si much diversity. the Devs are constantly doing more I haven't found another game like this. You've got your normal gatcha part but f2p players can still easily progress. The game is brilliant for strategy, with RPG and chess elements. If you like a challenge and nothing idle, then definitely give this a go

Dev_ it's your internal offerings I am referring to. can't return to home page with enduring another buy me window. and it seems to contribute to restarts. I don't know if I have ever closed the game on purpose I just wait for the next lockup .

Fun tactical battle game with slide and flip puzzle mechanics and a core system that is pretty easy to understand so that you can predict outcomes effectively. Most activities are PVE solo or coop, which I enjoy. The PVP arena is ridiculous and leaves a whole lot to chance rather than tactics. For about six months I played with minimal, rare-occasion spending but my growth is pretty much hitting a pay wall and my battles are mostly either tedious or punishing so my play is falling off.

In most ways a 4.5* game but the global battle share option as of 10days ago or so doesn't allow me to pick up any fights which is holding me back hugely. They have always been selected by another play before they even come up. Really frustrating

Recent updates have changed nothing. This game is designed to do one thing. Make you spend ridiculous amounts of money to get the latest and greatest heroes that will give you a small chance at completing their latest event. Which, also hide the best rewards behind a pay wall. By the time you are done this game can easily bleed you $50 to $100 a month and that's before event spending trying to get new heroes. The only thing that saves this game is a good guild and those are frequently full.

The game got atuck on a merge screen and now it won't do anything. No way to exit the screen, no way to go forward or back. It's been over a year now and no resolution. I had paid for several upgrades and the only response I got from this company was "its a tough fix".

Personally not at all happy with the a4 as well, but that's cuz I just got my 1st a3 5*, belived im closing on the big guys contend and now the line got moved dramatically away from my reach :( Bring us back the race+colir lead for the exclusive raid chars, we have build entire teams based on those, this is a criminal nerf!!!

Not as friendly for free users (first week I spent like 6€, that's it). Played for 4 months every day, completed every quest I could, lots of grinding and still only had been lucky twice to pull 2 exclusive heroes. And I was kinda ok with that, saving resources to get the 3rd asap. Today they "rebalance" the game and one of them gets his bonus down to a regular hero, despite being rare. Trying your best to get the 3rd and all of a sudden you're back to one. It's really discouraging...

The game is very nice and interesting, but the amount of grind (or whale out on their offers they shove down your throat with every occasion) required to progress in INSANE. The tactical aspects of it are very nice, but be prepared to play for at least a year to get into the juicy decent stuff. If you don't mind the slow progression (kind of a given with f2p games) then it's very interesting.

The best game of the genre I've ever played BY FAR. Awesome character art and insane variety, easy to learn and very difficult to master, very F2P friendly although if you want to be #1 you most likely have to spend. I've played it casually for 3 years now and I'm still very much engaged. If you can appreciate the journey of collecting and growing your heroes, it's the game for you. I've tried many similar games and even the few I didn't discard immediately bored me after a couple months.

The core game excellent. As you progress through the game, it requires you to have certain heroes for certain challenges. There's where friends comes in. It's expensive because it requires you to constantly get new heroes and they keep creating new challenges (problems) and offering you the solution (new heroes). I can still tolerate this part. The part I hated is the Temple pulls. Pulling the pet without the hero is really a disaster. It's like baiting you and they refuse to fix that part.

The game itself is solid, easily a 5 star game. However the growth rate for your characters is very slow so -1 star for that. And the sheer number of "get it now before it's gone!" pop-up offers is absurd, every time I open the app there's a pop-up offer or three, Go to a different screen and come back there's more pop up offers, complete a few levels Guess what There's more pop up offers, Oh you got a new character here's some pop up offers. so -1 star for that.
